The purpose of the Munro Hampton Infrastructure Fund (MHIF) is to provide infrastructure funding for Munro College and Hampton School, and manage the implementation of the infrastructure projects it funds. The MHIF at this time is focused on supporting maintenance projects of Hampton and Munro with the objective of saving the existing infrastructure.
The Toronto based MHIF was established by alumni after consultations with the Munro and Dickenson Trust, Munro, and Hampton School Boards.
Although these older secondary high schools are currently supported by the Government of Jamaica, not enough funding is provided in the annual budget to maintain the infrastructure which has grown over the last 165 years. The long-term vision for the MHIF is to develop and refine its operations so that the Charity will eventually evolve into an institutionalized organization capable of funding and implementing infrastructure projects at Hampton School and Munro College on an annual basis.
On June 7th, 2019 the Munro Hampton Infrastructure Fund (MHIF) was approved as a Registered Charity by the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services and issued Letters Patent as a Canadian Revenue Agency Registered Charity Account Number 82435 9392 RR0001.
